With a background in luxury hospitality, exclusive travel, storytelling, and a lifetime spent exploring remote frontiers, Karla founded The Journey Atelier to bridge the space between refined luxury and genuine authenticity. Her vision is grounded in the philosophy of slow travel — the art of presence, where journeys unfold with intention and meaningful connections are formed with places, people, and cultures. Working closely with private clients, she curates behind-the-scenes access and exceptional experiences, supported by the finest private guides and local experts in each destination.

Willem oversees the integrity of our footprint, ensuring that every journey aligns with our conservation values and long-term responsibility to the environments we operate in. He acts as a careful gatekeeper, researching destinations, partners, and experiences to ensure they meet the highest standards of sustainability, ethics, and authenticity.
